New lambs are playing chase outside
The weather hasn't been kind to us, but we have healthy lambs enjoying the spring grass with their mothers. Hopefully some warmer weather soon will ensure the grass keeps growing.
Unaffected by the drought here in the North West we are looking forward to some drier weather so we can hang up our wellies for the summer

The farm
Pyegreave Farm is an historic Grade II listed property dating back to around 1490, and is the oldest known farm in this part of Cheshire.
Tucked away on the slopes of Tegg’s Nose Country Park on the edge of the Peak District, it’s only minutes away from the sought after villages of Langley and Sutton, and from Macclesfield where you’ll find all the amenities of a thriving market town. Just a few miles away from the childhood home of famous wildlife artist Charles Tunnicliffe, the farm was the subject of one of his early Cheshire watercolours.
The three stone buildings are grouped around the old farmyard (no longer used as such), forming a charming little community of six houses. The original farmhouse is our home – we have been tending the surrounding land for over twenty years and now raise pedigree Cheviot sheep and prize-winning Aberdeen Angus cattle under the “Tegsnose” brand, supplying meat to Waitrose and other quality outlets.
The cottages
The old stone barns have been lovingly converted into five two and three bedroom character cottages, preserving many of the original features such as the rambling oak beams and pitched ceilings while adding modern kitchens, bathrooms and heating. There is also a small single room unit available that can be let as part of one of the cottages, or used as occasional guest accommodation by residents – useful when you have friends and family to stay.
Flexible rental terms
The cottages are available on flexible short and medium term rentals, perfect for those house-hunting or between homes, on temporary contracts or relocating to the area. They can be let furnished or unfurnished, and can be fully serviced if required. And very occasionally we have weeks free for holiday rentals, available at short notice only.
